Susan Huang helps oversee the real estate portfolios that MacFarlane Partners manages on behalf of its capital partners. Working as a client advocate within the firm, she is charged with administering and executing portfolio strategies with the objective of maximizing returns while controlling risks. Among her responsibilities are implementing portfolio strategies, monitoring investment performance, assessing risk exposures, preparing investor reports, and analyzing capital allocations to maximize returns and ensure alignment with portfolio strategies.


Career Overview

Susan has six years of real estate experience, during which she has underwritten and helped manage more than $5 billion in real estate assets.

Past Experience

Prior to joining MacFarlane Partners, she was an associate with Pacific Union Homes, a land developer and home builder in the San Francisco Bay Area. There, she evaluated new residential-land investment opportunities in northern and central California, and performed financial pro forma analyses of master-planned communities developed by the firm that consisted of town homes and detached single-family housing.

A certified public accountant, Susan began her business career with KPMG Peat Marwick’s assurance group, where she focused on audits of financial institutions and real estate companies, ultimately reaching the position of supervising senior. She later worked as an analyst with KLA-Tencor, a designer and manufacturer of semiconductor equipment in San Jose, Calif., holding roles that ranged from financial planning to strategic supply-chain management.
