Kevin Roberts oversees MacFarlane Development Company’s development projects in Southern California, such as the recently completed Park Fifth and Trademark rental apartment communities and the planned Angels Landing hotel and residential mixed-use development, all of which are located in downtown Los Angeles. His responsibilities include sourcing and acquiring sites; securing project entitlements; determining project scopes, budgets and schedules; overseeing project design, engineering, construction and marketing/sales teams; obtaining construction financing; and working to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budgeted expectations, and in compliance with regulations and industry standards.

Career Overview

Kevin has 21 years of real estate experience, during which he has acquired and entitled more than 5.5 million square feet of commercial, multi-family and mixed-use properties totaling $1.2 billion in value. He has delivered more than 1,500 multi-family residential units, negotiated 150,000 square feet of office and retail leases, and completed 200,000 square feet of commercial space in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

Past Experience

Prior to joining MacFarlane Partners, Kevin served as vice president, development for Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw the development of several high-rise and mid-rise mixed-use properties. Previously, he was a vice president with The JBG Companies (now JBG Smith) and led several teams that developed urban, mixed-use properties in and around Washington, D.C., including two 30-acre mixed-use projects adjacent to public-transit stations in the District of Columbia.

Kevin began his real estate career with Catellus, a real estate operating and development company based in San Francisco., There, he led the private redevelopment of a decommissioned military base in Alameda, California, which included negotiating development and infrastructure agreements with the U.S. Navy and the City of Alameda. He also has held management positions in the infrastructure finance and renewable energy industries.
