As director, William Alexis works across MacFarlane Partners’ real estate and corporate finance functions. He focuses on strategy, financial due diligence and execution related to the firm’s real estate investment opportunities and strategic investment partnerships.


Career Overview

William has 11 years of experience in strategic finance and analysis for private equity real estate investment, real estate venture capital and equity research purposes. He has worked extensively in evaluating existing property investments, prospective development projects and assessing venture-capital investments in real estate technology startups.

Past Experience

Prior to joining MacFarlane Partners, William was an associate director in the urban development group of Sidewalk Labs, now a unit of Google that aims to create more sustainable and equitable cities. While there, he focused on financial modeling of ground-up development projects and worked with the corporate development team in assessing investments in real estate technology startups.

Earlier, William worked in both asset management and real estate venture-capital investment for DivcoWest, a real estate private equity firm. He helped build out the firm’s venture investments platform, built financial operating models for evaluating prospective real estate venture capital investments and performed other due diligence of potential real estate tech startup investments.

William began his career as an equity research associate for Credit Suisse, evaluating companies in the homebuilding and building-products sectors, and determining stock buy-hold-sell recommendations.
